Gérardmer is a tourist resort of 10,000 inhabitants, in the heart of the Vosges mountain range. It was dubbed the "Pearl of the Vosges" by Abel Hugo, brother of Victor Hugo.
Sommer or winter, the resort welcomes a lot of families; that’s why Gerardmer has solicited the “famille plus” award.
This nickname has become the guarantee of a successful family holiday.
Family Plus was launched in 2006 by the Ministry of Tourism as a label recognizing the welcome and services offered to families and children in French tourist communities.
The commune of Gérardmer has been awarded this label since April 2013 in recognition of the tourist services (accommodation, restaurants, leisure activities...) it offers families and kids, doing everything possible to ensure an ideal welcome and successful holidays!
"It's a special time for parents as well as kids: it's a time for reunion, sharing and discovery, together or individually."
At the foot of the slopes, the playground is free for kids and adults.
The totally safe tobogganing area has two slopes, one more difficult than the other, so cautious kids can stay separate from adventurous ones looking for speed.
The playground called " Igloo de Loustic / Loustic's Igloo" is ideal for the tiniest, on foam mattresses forming a labyrinth.
